How Comfort & Joy Art Began
Comfort & Joy Art began 13 years ago when Ms. Jen discovered the joy, beauty, fun, wonder, and the stress-relieving qualities of creating art in her own life in the midst of a very stressful season while working in healthcare.
Shortly after experiencing this joy for herself, she wanted to provide others with opportunities to benefit from the gift of creativity in their own lives.
Three years ago, Jen decided to focus primarily on creating art classes on video for kids ages 5 and up - engaging, meaningful, positive screen time options - without the negative, destructive messaging often woven into a lot of children's programming these days.
Comfort & Joy Art classes are a labor of love and joy as Ms. Jen creates the projects and records the classes. Then her husband puts them all together in an engaging, upbeat, positive video experience, that can be enjoyed by kids ages 5 and up - without the negative influences often present in most mainstream children's programming in the world today.

Ms. Jen loves being able to encourage, teach, and celebrate children, and the joy they find in expressing themselves creatively through art.
Generosity is a core value of Comfort & Joy Art. It is a value that is modeled, encouraged, celebrated, and taught by Ms. Jen in her children's book, Zoobee's Secret Sauce, and in the values she shares in her video art classes for children ages 5 and up.
Creativity is a central value here at Comfort & Joy Art. Being creative is a very big part of what it means to be human, and each child was created and born with their own unique creative expression, that is as unique to them as their own fingerprint.
Instead of cookie cutter art, Ms. Jen encourages children to create each project in a way that resonates with them - whether that means adding things, changing things, or subtracting things from the art project being shared.
Ms. Jen gives each child full permission to bring their own unique creativity to the table for each art project, and create in a way that resonates with them - so that the end result is an art project that reflects their individual creative strengths and personalities.
